Basic knowledge of engine diagnostics is a prerequisite for proper chip tuning and customer satisfaction. Same like with the factory settings, the vehicle will work well with the modification only if the vehicle is in good technical condition.

There are a number of diagnostic devices on the market with different vehicle coverage. In general, the most effective is currently the VCDS diagnostics for the diagnostics of the VW / Škoda concern, or Bosch KTS diagnostics, which includes extensive vehicle support. Some parameters can also be diagnosed using the EOBD protocol, but it does not contain all the data.

Therefore, before each modification, we recommend reading the fault memory and driving test, which includes:

• verification of faults stored in the engine control unit
• fuel pressure control
• turbocharger pressure control
• check fuel injection correction
• check the function of the EGR valve
• clogging of the particulate filter
